Bettie Page is 82 and signing autographs

| | Comments (1)

Did you know the LA Times has a story today about 50's sex kitten and pin-up icon Bettie Page and her enduring fame?
If you have any interest in Page, 50's pin-ups, burlesque, etc., this piece is a must-read about the kitten with a whip and her past 20 years.

Some BP quotes:
"I have no idea why I'm the only model who has had so much fame so long after quitting work."
and
"I want to be remembered as I was when I was young and in my golden times?. I want to be remembered as a woman who changed people's perspectives concerning nudity in its natural form."

Susan,

thanks for that pic link (slaps self upside head)...yahoo didn't enter the equation for some reason...

I've always found Page super-hot; more sex appeal than, say, Monroe. But I'm not sure why (chuckle). Girl-next-door looks, but the "X-factor" just BEAMS through every photo I've seen of her.

Had a girlfriend in the 80s who looked a _lot_ like her...Karen, if you're reading this...could you dress up for me one last time...old times sake?? ;)))

BTW, the NYT had a piece today on Gretchen Mol playing Page in the upcoming "The Notorious Bettie Page"

Nice butt, no cigar.
